Takeout Gutterpunk

After installing Things the Police Said to Me (2019), this set of ceramic pieces became representative bodies of oppression in a series of cathartic performances. Quotes said to the artist by police officers were drawn onto porcelain white-boxes (aka takeout boxes). Placed in the gutter and in the street, the artist crushes them in various ways before sweeping them away.
